FIFA 16 versions discussions

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 16:01:41 -1100

This will create another side effect, that is EXTREMELY beneficial to EA: Obsolescence of FUT 15 much quicker than any previous version became undesirable to play. Historically players have played older versions for many months, enjoying very cheap markets that will allow them to play with players that were out of reach when the title was current. That's no longer going to be the case. The marketplace will be a gosht town. In fact, the number of live transfers is even now way below what it was before the update.

In short, every user of the game has been forced into a Soviet style economy. The government sets workers salaries at low levels (low DNF multiplier, low rewards), tightly controls the supply of luxury goods (improbable cardweights), prevents free trade (with cheap Fifa 16 coins), and eliminates merchant competitiveness (by setting a low cap that prevents undercutting).

Additionally, all socialist societies have an ultra rich elite that will forever be untouchable. We will have that too. Because the only way to have a great team will be to spend hundreds and hundreds of real US Dollars (or pounds) in buying FIFA points to open as many packs as possible. Of course, there will be the few lucky ones that open a Ronaldo or Messi in a pack, but we know that due to cardweight, this is statistically improbable.

So there you have it. All the follies of the Soviet Bloc of the 20th century have been skillfully and dramatically implemented by the foolish Canadian ( I'm assuming) programmers that are probably too young to remember the Cold War, and certainly never paid attention to history textbooks.

Welcome to the new motherland, Comrades.
EDIT- Several people have asked about the effect of EA changing the price range periodically. This is another socialist staple, and used by many governments in the past to disastrous results. If you hold a good but have no assurance that the value of that good will be the same when you wake up any given day, you will either hoard the good permanently, or withdraw from market participation. This is historically true, and will happen here as we are all humans that react in predictable ways.

If you have a player you think will eventually get a higher price range, you will simply hold it indefinitely until that price is up. Conversely, if you have a player you think will go down, you will sell for minimum.... along with every other thousands of people holding that player. Your chances of selling will be small due to the competition. It will cause the player to be panic sold cheap, and make a self-fulfilling prophecy.

EDIT 2- Professor of Developmental Psychology with your Fifa 16 account. And yes, I know anyone can claim anything, and my apologies for it not being a field of direct relevance. Sorry Reddit. I should have know not to say that in this community.

FIFA 16 latest price ranges

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 15:20:20 -1100

It's weird to see that TOTY Kroos was extinct when he had a maximum price of 250K, but is selling for less than 250K now his max got updated to 280K. This is all about hoarding and hoarders panic selling later on. It's pretty much those hoarders who ruin the game for 'normal' people who would like to actually PLAY with those players. If EA for example announces that price ranges won't be adjusted anymore, almost every 'extinct'(hoarded) player will come available on the market within a day. This price ranges would work perfectly, if only EA finds a way to stop hoarding, for example give everyone a limit of one of the same player in their club at a time(exception for pack pulled players of course).

I believe hoarding will not exist in FIFA 16 because the reason people are hoarding their players in the first place is because they bought them for a ridiculous price before the price bands were put into place. So they figure that their is no point in selling the players in which they spent a shit load of cheap Fifa 16 coins on, but little do they even realize that the more they hold off on selling the players, the lower their price continues to drop. Since price bands will be in FUT 16 from the start, there shouldnt be any hoarding.

I've been calling for this for years now. There should be no reason to have 2 of the same card unless you're trying to make someone else pay more for it than you did.

FIFA 16

Everyone on here complained so much about coin selling, but trading was the main reason for the crazy market. People were sitting on 10+ SIF Lacazettes for months and his price reached well over 2mil for no reason. Every trader had their certain cards they stuck to and kept those prices from dropping. It was really ruining things for the people that actually want to use the cards rather than turn them for profit.

Fair enough. But I'm saying, when I'm trying to build a new team and want to get Eriksen on the cheap, you guys are the same ones I end up in a price war with, and it's fairly annoying when you know the other guy is bidding on him just to add him to the trade pile

I never suggested that they don't play. Just that it's annoying wanting to play with a player and competing with people buying him when they've already got a trade pile full of that card.

The game and market would probably be better off if they added greater performance based rewards to make Fifa 16 coins and limited everyone to buying one of each card.

PC version of FIFA 16

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 15:37:37 -1100

As you may know, all the cheating, cheap Fifa 16 coins glitching and insanely high prices have been the norm for PC since FIFA 12, and for us PC users it's really nothing new. It was so bad that someone in the EA forum actually ended up making a program to counter the auto-quitting bot. The fact that he didn't make one for FUT15 because "that's EA's job" just shows the sad state the PC version is in. If cheating and inflation was not such a big problem on consoles like they were this year, things would not have been any different on PC this year.

But now that console prices are out of hand, EA decides to adjust the price cap based on console prices. For the first time in like 4 years, we had cheap prices in the market. You can actually trade your way to Messi and Ronaldo, but that was taken away from us in matter of weeks. In a lot of ways PC market would have been better off if EA just left it alone like they have been since FIFA 12. The market was not out of hand like it was in the consoles, and people were ok with it despite the fact that their pre-web app crash investments were losing value.

FIFA 16

IMO, everything that has been happening on PC shows just how little EA cares about the PC user base. Also, let's not forget that next gen feature was omitted on FIFA 14 altogether for bogus reasons and EA didn't even make current gen FIFA on PC until FIFA 11

I skipped FIFA 14 because of I was frustrated with Fifa 16 coins ps4, and personally what happened with the market this year has given me more than enough reason to boycott EA for good. For those who might be thinking about getting PC versions in the future, I suggest you guys stick with consoles, because PC will never get the attention that the consoles get in this game. With the new price cap, the market might work out on consoles next year, but if there are any new PC-specific cheating problems again, I highly doubt EA will to do anything about it.

FIFA 16: recognizing the problem

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 15:06:00 -1100

This is a fantastic response. Buying packs is compulsive spending, something everyone has been guilty of at some point in time whether it be buying something they didn't intend to because it was on sale or treating themselves because they earned Fut 16 coins. Your first step is recognizing the problem, and you've already made a lot of progress by realizing it. I don't think much more needs to be added to /u/pepito420's comment, but when I was young (up until around high school) I used to be a compulsive buyer. I'm now very good with Fifa 16 coins pc, here are some of the things I've learned over the years to ask myself: is it really worth it?

Pay with cash. You obviously can't buy packs with cash, so you're left with two options: going to the store to buy MSP / PSN credit or linking your credit card to continuously load Fifa Points. Multiple research studies have found that people tend to spend more money when they use debit or credit cards rather than paying in cash. Forking out cold hard cash to the cashier is a lot harder for me than swiping my credit card. If you still must buy FP, force yourself to go to a local store to buy pre-loaded cards. When I first started playing FIFA, I opened around $60 in packs in the form of 3 x 1600 MSP cards which I bought at my local Best Buy (spent $0 since then on FIFA).

Each time I wanted to open packs, I had to ask my parents to drive me to the store to buy these cards. Overall, it was a pain in the ass and it forced me to ask myself if it was worth it.

FIFA 16

If you want something, sleep on it. This has saved me countless dollars since I've tried it, and while it sounds stupid, it does work. The more expensive the item is, the longer I wait. If I need it, I buy it...but for everything else, I wait.

Most of the time, I completely forget I wanted it in the first place. If not, I get another chance to really consider if it's worth it to me. Most of the time, it isn't. If you see an amazing pack pull on /r/FIFA and get the urge to open packs to see if you have the same pack luck, wait. Come back the next day and I can almost guarantee you that you won't have the same strong urge to open packs. Over time, you'll get much better at controlling this impulse, to the point where you only have to wait a few minutes for the impulse to pass.

Don't compare yourself to other people. The front page has plenty of posts from time to time about how they pulled this IF or that TOTS card. Do I wish I could have that kind of pack luck? Yes, everyone does! But you have to realize (if you don't already) that those posts rise to the top for a reason. They're rare, very rare in fact. So rare that it isn't worth it to try to pack them as /u/pepito420 touched on earlier. While FUT may be more fun with enough Fifa coins, the same fun can be achieved with a sweaty team, or a team of players from your favorite club.

FIFA 16: some players are expensive

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 19:13:56 -1100

What I don't understand is since you invest in players before the crash and then sell them afterwards your profit does not matter as other players you want to buy are more expensive now. For example: let's say: at the peak of the crash aguero is 200k and yaya is 200k. You invest in yaya and he goes up to 300k, and you sell him making ~ 100k profit. With your Fifa 16 account you want to buy aguero. He too as gone from 200k to 300k. Therefore there was actually no gain.

I understand you can get a good amount of profit in the long run, but that means waiting it out and many people like myself want to play.
Or yaya could go up more than aguero...

Why not just sell before the crash and buy during?
If my assumptions are wrong please tell me, this is the first year I have looked at trading.

FIFA 16

You've got it slightly wrong. The trick is to invest in players during the crash, not before. You sell all your players before the crash, to make a lot of coins while players are still expensive. Then, once the crash happens you buy your players back for less money AND you buy other, popular players which you then sell once the crash ends and all prices have gone back up.

in the end, its all the same thing, but by buying during the crash and selling after, you're profiting in order to buy a dream team during toty when the prices are the lowest they will be the entire fifa cycle. buying during and selling after is more of a way to gain Fifa 16 coins in order to sell before and buy during. that might have been a little confusing but it made sense in my head :)

Honestly Dec 12th would be the safest time to sell. There will be a dip pre-xmas in anticipation of new players opening packs, a dip after xmas when new players actually are opening packs, a dip around new years in anticipation of TOTY and a dip after TOTY as more packs are opened. You should be able to play all of these dips to make money, but the safest time to get the maximum price for what you have now would be next Friday.
