FIFA 16 versions discussions

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 16:01:41 -1100

This will create another side effect, that is EXTREMELY beneficial to EA: Obsolescence of FUT 15 much quicker than any previous version became undesirable to play. Historically players have played older versions for many months, enjoying very cheap markets that will allow them to play with players that were out of reach when the title was current. That's no longer going to be the case. The marketplace will be a gosht town. In fact, the number of live transfers is even now way below what it was before the update.

In short, every user of the game has been forced into a Soviet style economy. The government sets workers salaries at low levels (low DNF multiplier, low rewards), tightly controls the supply of luxury goods (improbable cardweights), prevents free trade (with cheap Fifa 16 coins), and eliminates merchant competitiveness (by setting a low cap that prevents undercutting).

Additionally, all socialist societies have an ultra rich elite that will forever be untouchable. We will have that too. Because the only way to have a great team will be to spend hundreds and hundreds of real US Dollars (or pounds) in buying FIFA points to open as many packs as possible. Of course, there will be the few lucky ones that open a Ronaldo or Messi in a pack, but we know that due to cardweight, this is statistically improbable.

So there you have it. All the follies of the Soviet Bloc of the 20th century have been skillfully and dramatically implemented by the foolish Canadian ( I'm assuming) programmers that are probably too young to remember the Cold War, and certainly never paid attention to history textbooks.

Welcome to the new motherland, Comrades.
EDIT- Several people have asked about the effect of EA changing the price range periodically. This is another socialist staple, and used by many governments in the past to disastrous results. If you hold a good but have no assurance that the value of that good will be the same when you wake up any given day, you will either hoard the good permanently, or withdraw from market participation. This is historically true, and will happen here as we are all humans that react in predictable ways.

If you have a player you think will eventually get a higher price range, you will simply hold it indefinitely until that price is up. Conversely, if you have a player you think will go down, you will sell for minimum.... along with every other thousands of people holding that player. Your chances of selling will be small due to the competition. It will cause the player to be panic sold cheap, and make a self-fulfilling prophecy.

EDIT 2- Professor of Developmental Psychology with your Fifa 16 account. And yes, I know anyone can claim anything, and my apologies for it not being a field of direct relevance. Sorry Reddit. I should have know not to say that in this community.

FIFA 16 latest price ranges

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 15:20:20 -1100

It's weird to see that TOTY Kroos was extinct when he had a maximum price of 250K, but is selling for less than 250K now his max got updated to 280K. This is all about hoarding and hoarders panic selling later on. It's pretty much those hoarders who ruin the game for 'normal' people who would like to actually PLAY with those players. If EA for example announces that price ranges won't be adjusted anymore, almost every 'extinct'(hoarded) player will come available on the market within a day. This price ranges would work perfectly, if only EA finds a way to stop hoarding, for example give everyone a limit of one of the same player in their club at a time(exception for pack pulled players of course).

I believe hoarding will not exist in FIFA 16 because the reason people are hoarding their players in the first place is because they bought them for a ridiculous price before the price bands were put into place. So they figure that their is no point in selling the players in which they spent a shit load of cheap Fifa 16 coins on, but little do they even realize that the more they hold off on selling the players, the lower their price continues to drop. Since price bands will be in FUT 16 from the start, there shouldnt be any hoarding.

I've been calling for this for years now. There should be no reason to have 2 of the same card unless you're trying to make someone else pay more for it than you did.

FIFA 16

Everyone on here complained so much about coin selling, but trading was the main reason for the crazy market. People were sitting on 10+ SIF Lacazettes for months and his price reached well over 2mil for no reason. Every trader had their certain cards they stuck to and kept those prices from dropping. It was really ruining things for the people that actually want to use the cards rather than turn them for profit.

Fair enough. But I'm saying, when I'm trying to build a new team and want to get Eriksen on the cheap, you guys are the same ones I end up in a price war with, and it's fairly annoying when you know the other guy is bidding on him just to add him to the trade pile

I never suggested that they don't play. Just that it's annoying wanting to play with a player and competing with people buying him when they've already got a trade pile full of that card.

The game and market would probably be better off if they added greater performance based rewards to make Fifa 16 coins and limited everyone to buying one of each card.

PC version of FIFA 16

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 15:37:37 -1100

As you may know, all the cheating, cheap Fifa 16 coins glitching and insanely high prices have been the norm for PC since FIFA 12, and for us PC users it's really nothing new. It was so bad that someone in the EA forum actually ended up making a program to counter the auto-quitting bot. The fact that he didn't make one for FUT15 because "that's EA's job" just shows the sad state the PC version is in. If cheating and inflation was not such a big problem on consoles like they were this year, things would not have been any different on PC this year.

But now that console prices are out of hand, EA decides to adjust the price cap based on console prices. For the first time in like 4 years, we had cheap prices in the market. You can actually trade your way to Messi and Ronaldo, but that was taken away from us in matter of weeks. In a lot of ways PC market would have been better off if EA just left it alone like they have been since FIFA 12. The market was not out of hand like it was in the consoles, and people were ok with it despite the fact that their pre-web app crash investments were losing value.

FIFA 16

IMO, everything that has been happening on PC shows just how little EA cares about the PC user base. Also, let's not forget that next gen feature was omitted on FIFA 14 altogether for bogus reasons and EA didn't even make current gen FIFA on PC until FIFA 11

I skipped FIFA 14 because of I was frustrated with Fifa 16 coins ps4, and personally what happened with the market this year has given me more than enough reason to boycott EA for good. For those who might be thinking about getting PC versions in the future, I suggest you guys stick with consoles, because PC will never get the attention that the consoles get in this game. With the new price cap, the market might work out on consoles next year, but if there are any new PC-specific cheating problems again, I highly doubt EA will to do anything about it.

FIFA 16: recognizing the problem

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 15:06:00 -1100

This is a fantastic response. Buying packs is compulsive spending, something everyone has been guilty of at some point in time whether it be buying something they didn't intend to because it was on sale or treating themselves because they earned Fut 16 coins. Your first step is recognizing the problem, and you've already made a lot of progress by realizing it. I don't think much more needs to be added to /u/pepito420's comment, but when I was young (up until around high school) I used to be a compulsive buyer. I'm now very good with Fifa 16 coins pc, here are some of the things I've learned over the years to ask myself: is it really worth it?

Pay with cash. You obviously can't buy packs with cash, so you're left with two options: going to the store to buy MSP / PSN credit or linking your credit card to continuously load Fifa Points. Multiple research studies have found that people tend to spend more money when they use debit or credit cards rather than paying in cash. Forking out cold hard cash to the cashier is a lot harder for me than swiping my credit card. If you still must buy FP, force yourself to go to a local store to buy pre-loaded cards. When I first started playing FIFA, I opened around $60 in packs in the form of 3 x 1600 MSP cards which I bought at my local Best Buy (spent $0 since then on FIFA).

Each time I wanted to open packs, I had to ask my parents to drive me to the store to buy these cards. Overall, it was a pain in the ass and it forced me to ask myself if it was worth it.

FIFA 16

If you want something, sleep on it. This has saved me countless dollars since I've tried it, and while it sounds stupid, it does work. The more expensive the item is, the longer I wait. If I need it, I buy it...but for everything else, I wait.

Most of the time, I completely forget I wanted it in the first place. If not, I get another chance to really consider if it's worth it to me. Most of the time, it isn't. If you see an amazing pack pull on /r/FIFA and get the urge to open packs to see if you have the same pack luck, wait. Come back the next day and I can almost guarantee you that you won't have the same strong urge to open packs. Over time, you'll get much better at controlling this impulse, to the point where you only have to wait a few minutes for the impulse to pass.

Don't compare yourself to other people. The front page has plenty of posts from time to time about how they pulled this IF or that TOTS card. Do I wish I could have that kind of pack luck? Yes, everyone does! But you have to realize (if you don't already) that those posts rise to the top for a reason. They're rare, very rare in fact. So rare that it isn't worth it to try to pack them as /u/pepito420 touched on earlier. While FUT may be more fun with enough Fifa coins, the same fun can be achieved with a sweaty team, or a team of players from your favorite club.

FIFA 16: some players are expensive

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 19:13:56 -1100

What I don't understand is since you invest in players before the crash and then sell them afterwards your profit does not matter as other players you want to buy are more expensive now. For example: let's say: at the peak of the crash aguero is 200k and yaya is 200k. You invest in yaya and he goes up to 300k, and you sell him making ~ 100k profit. With your Fifa 16 account you want to buy aguero. He too as gone from 200k to 300k. Therefore there was actually no gain.

I understand you can get a good amount of profit in the long run, but that means waiting it out and many people like myself want to play.
Or yaya could go up more than aguero...

Why not just sell before the crash and buy during?
If my assumptions are wrong please tell me, this is the first year I have looked at trading.

FIFA 16

You've got it slightly wrong. The trick is to invest in players during the crash, not before. You sell all your players before the crash, to make a lot of coins while players are still expensive. Then, once the crash happens you buy your players back for less money AND you buy other, popular players which you then sell once the crash ends and all prices have gone back up.

in the end, its all the same thing, but by buying during the crash and selling after, you're profiting in order to buy a dream team during toty when the prices are the lowest they will be the entire fifa cycle. buying during and selling after is more of a way to gain Fifa 16 coins in order to sell before and buy during. that might have been a little confusing but it made sense in my head :)

Honestly Dec 12th would be the safest time to sell. There will be a dip pre-xmas in anticipation of new players opening packs, a dip after xmas when new players actually are opening packs, a dip around new years in anticipation of TOTY and a dip after TOTY as more packs are opened. You should be able to play all of these dips to make money, but the safest time to get the maximum price for what you have now would be next Friday.

FIFA 16: Predictions and Wishlist

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 13:54:07 -1100

I have some predictions and a wishlist that I want to share with you guys to see what you think. These are open for discussion.

Predictions:
Pro Clubs might get some spotlight -If the FUT situation continues through FIFA 16, I'm pretty sure Pro Clubs might get some spotlight EA will add a Two Door Cinema Club -Every year, (except for this one) they've always added a Two Door Cinema Club. There is going to be that one song from the game that will end up on my Music Library. -Most likely it will be similar to Milky Chance. The UI will be different (Except for Game Plan) -Every 2 years, FIFA has looked different

FIFA 16

Wishlist:
Commentators have more stuff to talk about -This year mostly what they talked about was the World Cup which really annoyed me. Also I wish they could talk less smack about the team thats losing. Custom Kits and Badges for Pro Clubs -I would love a Custom Badge and Kit for my Pro Club. For the Custom badge, EA could make a specific team for approving the Badges and using the in the game. (This is to prevent any inappropriate Badges) So what we would do is, upload a .PNG and wait for approval. For the Kits, we could have the option the make a Kit from Nike, Adidas, Pumas, etc.

Fix the servers -I think this is one we all have in our wishlist. Now that they took down the Giant (cheap Fifa 16 coins selling), they can focus on stuff like this and fix it. Matchmaking in Drop-in matches. -Not that they don't do that, but I wish they could do it like Call of Duty, same lobby and same people. Also try doing a perfect 11v11 matches. More game modes -Seasons is fun, FUT is fun, and Pro Clubs is fun. But more game modes would be cool. (If you guys have any idea of game modes, leave it in the comments)

FUT 16 servers discussions

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 14:08:35 -1100

I'm 90% sure there is some sort of handi-cap system in place in this game that chooses when you win or when you lose essentially. Too often I get the worst conceded goals when I am trying to defend my absolute best.
It doesn't just happen to me, even when I win I know how bullshit it all is because I see his teammate's AI momentarily stop in a bad area and I score. Its like the AI literally forgets he's playing football instead of chasing loose balls that are two steps away from them.

And I'm curious if the developers would consider making an online career mode that is similar to Football Manager and have people compete against friends and actually play against them.

I'd prefer them to fix the general game mechanics, but an online career mode would be plenty for me to dive right into another purchase. Sick of winning a game then getting D/C from the FUT server, no Fifa 16 coins, DNF zzzz, fix your shit EA

FIFA 16

Solid points all around. Looking at numerous releases over the past couple of years, it is clear that EA doesn't actually care about its customers. For instance, taking away features...there is absolutely no reason to do this. The best example is the new nhl game, but FIFA has been doing this for years. Like in career mode. What was the point of taking the player/manager option away?

I suppose it's unrealistic, yeah, but so is regularly scoring from the halfway line! The long goals thing was a problem in FIFA 12, i think, and it has been fixed....then, this year it comes back. The game plays like an alpha release on pc. Bugs everywhere, numerous fixes that need to happen but don't, and easily exploited mechanics that just make the game more of a chore, than fun. I have been playing FIFA since '07, and this is easily the most frustrating release yet. The expanse of game modes always made it more attractive than PES, but next year, i'll give PES a try. What's the point of having a bunch of different modes, when none of them work correctly?

Only reason I actually keep getting Fifa every year, is to play co-op with my friend. The days we don't play, I'm usually itching for some football, and end up playing ultimate team. If it wasn't for co-op though, I wouldn't own Fifa.
I do admit, I would love a more personalized career mode. Storylines wouldn't hurt, as long as they aren't over the top, and I miss having to do press conferences as my manager, it was great as you could either be a nice guy, neutral or a total dick to them.

My opinions about FIFA 16

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:01:25 -1100

I think people take internet hate quite lightly, but it's really just not fun when you're on the receiving end. I takes a toll on your personal life (speaking from experience), so you tend to shy away from interacting, or limit/lurk it so it doesn't bring you down. I'm generally a happy and friendly guy, and very used to the hate now tho. But I realized how odd that is when my close friends couldn't understand how I was still in a good mood after they saw the racist comments I got on TW after Price Ranges.

So you can imagine some of the ppl here seeing what I (or Rob) get, and thinking "Why would I ever want to get involved it that?" haha.

I believe just before I joined EA, the producers would talk often in the forums and such. Then I think someone found and posted a producer's home address and threatened them. Cops were sent to their home just to be safe. You might think it was an empty threat but you can't take the chance if you have a family. I'm sure those of you with kids can relate. It was a while ago, but I think that set a tone.

Not saying r/reddit is that kind of place. I've met some of you in person at our Seattle event and still keep in touch (shout out to u/Chvyvele & u/thegraduate). I actually prefer meeting FIFA fans in person vs through computer screens (ever notice how people on the Internet come across as mean, but are nice in person?)

The guys here do like r/FIFA and read it often because it's an older and more mature demographic.

FIFA 16

Plus, as Dan says, there are legal restrictions, so you might not get the answers you want. I'll let you know if the prospect moves forward, but please understand this isn't promising anything for now. I'll appreciate your patience until then.

Maybe that 10 question pre-chosen format you mentioned can work. Collect 10 questions from here (today, if you can, hope its not a rush), and I'll see what I can do.

While well intentioned, I don't think this is going to happen. EA has to operate within a legal band of communication, for better or worse (worse, imo). I do have the intention of creating a moderated thread to collect constructive feedback points that I'll pass along to EA - right now I think it's incredibly difficult to separate the signal from the noise due to the massive amounts of hate they're getting at every turn (justifiable as it may be).

I'm glad you responded, as you're one of the only points of contact we have with EA, and that's a BIG, BIG problem.

There are plenty of gaming companies that interact with their community in a much more authentic and consistent manner than EA have done with FUT (it's actually gotten much worse, as since that French guy that did the TOTY stuff left, there's almost never answers from EA on the forums or this subreddit).

I'd really like you to explain why EA can't let us know some answers to these questions. Especially why they're not adjusting things to reflect the market. (Fifa coins/game, tournament prizes, cheaper packs).

FIFA 16 selling prices discussions

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 21:17:03 -1100

People are looking forward to FIFA 16 but I'm anticipating a disaster. People generated a lot of wealth due to the original free market and are enjoying their inflated wealth (big or small) with Fifa 16 account. Won't be the case next year, I'm sure of it.

FUT players usually get a huge start during the early release of the FUT market but if TOTS proved anything, it's that a free market is what generates wealth. This controlled market nullifies it by killing sales. Say good bye to setting yourself up for a good FUT year by being smart those first two weeks.

It's much harder to make coins with price ranges. I made over 32m Fifa coins in the first 5 months of FIFA being out. I invested in IFs during TOTY and made a damn fortune. You can't invest in cards anymore because of the ranges. When everyone starts at 0 coins the only alternative to making coins will be by opening packs. FUT will slowly turn into the World Cup mode like last year. FIFA 16 for FUT is gonna suck with price ranges because it will be impossible to make coins off the get go UNLESS winning coins for winning games increases.

Price ranges for me are awesome because i'm sitting on over 30m coins while cards are dropping insanely fast. But price ranges suck for anyone who's trying to sell and trying to buy. Why buy a card that's due to drop in value in a week (every Tuesday). I haven't owned a team since price ranges went live cuz i'll only be losing coins if I were to buy a team today.

Yeah I agree, you shouldn't have to invest 3 hours into the game to get 7500 coins to blow it on a pack, that at best gives you one rare player. I recently watched through Spencer FC's wheel of futune; he opened a ridiculous amount of packs, like upwards of 500 and got what, like 3 informs and hazard.

Exactly. I have waited so long, holding coins, thinking the market would turn into a place where players were bought and sold in between their range because they had been lowered so far already that the prices seemed reasonable to everyone. Nope, still using my 50k team knowing that when I make the final plunge on TOTS players it may be the last 'amazing' team I can use because the players will either not sell, or will sell at a massive loss after ranges are dropped again and again.
